Woman, 77, killed by hit-and-run driver on Queens street

A 77-year-old woman was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Queens early Wednesday, officials said.

Jun Sum Yin was crossing Parsons Blvd. at 32nd Ave. in Flushing when the vehicle slammed into her about 7:10 a.m., cops said.

She was about two blocks from her home when she was hit in front of St. Paul Chong Hasang Roman Catholic Church, where a handful of people were attending mass.

“Some parishioners in the backseats heard some noises (and) a woman screaming,” pastor Andrew Kim said. “After the mass somebody said, ‘Something happened.’ The detectives told me it was a hit and run.”

Medics found Yin sprawled out in the street unconscious.
